Saturday 19 August: Heritage Week event: ‘Wild Child Day’ – a special family event in Kilbogget Park. Meet at Granville Road entrance, 2.00pm (ends circa 4.00pm).


Saturday 26 August: Heritage Week event: Citizen science workshop. Learn about the different ways your birdwatching observations can contribute to conservation, whether you are a novice birder or experienced ornithologist. Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, Killiney, 11.00am to 1.00pm.


Thursday 31 August: Tern Roost Watch at Sandymount Strand. Do not miss this spectacular event! Meet at Merrion Gates at 7.00pm. Parking on Strand Road. Bring boots or wellies.


Tuesday 5 September: Bee-keeping: the global picture, by Philip McCabe. Graduate Bar, Rochestown Avenue, 8.00pm. (Please note the new venue for the branch's monthly indoor meetings.)


Sunday 10 September: Outing to Kilcoole to see early autumn migrants. Meet at Kilcoole station car park, 10.30am.


Tuesday 3  October: All about the Great Spotted Woodpecker, by Declan Murphy. Graduate Bar, Rochestown Avenue, 8.00pm. (Please note the new venue for the branch's monthly indoor meetings.)


Sunday 8 October: Visit to Rogerstown estuary to look for birds of prey and waders. Meet at Turvey car park, 10.30am.


Tuesday 7 November:  Highlights of branch trip to the Canary Islands in February 2017, by Niall Hatch. Graduate Bar, Rochestown Avenue, 8.00pm. (Please note the new venue for the branch's monthly indoor meetings.)


Sunday 12 November: Coach trip to Wexford. Places limited, booking essential. Meet at Ferry Terminal in Dún Laoghaire. Coach departs 8.30am sharp.
