Wednesday 25 October: The breeding White-tailed Eagles at Portumna, Co Galway, and Mountshannon, Co Clare, by Bob Foyle. Limerick Institute of Technology, 7.45pm.


Wednesday 22 November: Ireland's trees: heritage, folklore and forestry, by Gerry Murphy. Limerick Institute of Technology, 7.45pm.


Saturday 25 November: Outing to Curraghchase Forest Park with Clare Branch to look for Chaffinch, Brambling, Jay, Buzzard, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Red Squirrel, etc. Meet in the car park at 9.30am. Leaders: Gearóid Jackson, Tom Lynch.


Wednesday 6 December: Tiger quest in India and birds in Canada, by Gerry Butler. The presenter has gone beyond his remit and put some tigers among the pigeons! Not to be missed. Limerick Institute of Technology, 7.45pm.


Saturday 9 December: Visit the Limerick Branch stall in Limerick's Milk Market. Selling books, novelty items, BirdWatch Ireland Christmas cards and calendar. Also, handouts on feeding birds, garden surveys and general information on wildlife. Limerick Milk Market, 8.00am to 1.00pm.


Wednesday 27 December: Post-Christmas outing to Westfields and other city sites to look for waterfowl, waders and passerines. Meet at Westfields Wetlands at 10.00am.


Saturday 13 January: Outing to Ross Castle, Killarney, to look for waterbirds on Ross Lake and Chiffchaff and Siberian Chiffchaff in the woods. Meet in Ross Castle car park at 10.00am. Leader: Davey Farrar.


Wednesday 17 January: Bird names, tunes and traditional music, by Tom Lynch. A novel presentation to start the New Year. Bring your spoons and bones. Limerick Institute of Technology, 7.45pm.


Sunday 28 January: Outing to Aughinish and Robertstown. We will visit the bird hides to view waterbirds and then travel to nearby Robertstown Creek to see the high-tide roost. Meet in the first car park, Aughinish, 10.30am. Leader: Geoff Hunt.


Sunday 18 February: Walk along the River Shannon in Limerick city to view gulls, visiting waterbirds, etc. Meet at St Michael’s Boat Club at 9.30am. Leaders: Clodagh Glasgow, Maura Turner.
