Welcome to the first issue of eWings, BirdWatch Ireland's email newsletter.
At BirdWatch Ireland we are always looking for new ways to communicate our message and news to our members and the greater public. That is why we have decided to launch an electronic newsletter which is delivered via email every month. Each issue will bring you the latest conservation and bird news from Ireland and abroad.

Save Our Seabirds Campaign Launched at Electric Picnic
A big thank you to all Electric Picnic-goers who helped us to launch our new Save Our Seabirds campaign, which highlights the threats faced by Ireland's marine birds. We collected over 2,000 signatures for our petition during the festival, which was held on 4th, 5th and 6th September in Stradbally, Co. Laois.

Helping Breeding Waders on the Shannon Callows
The Shannon Callows is one of the key areas in Ireland for our four most common species of breeding waders: Curlew, Lapwing, Redshank and Snipe. Sadly, numbers have been declining and urgent action is required.
