Job Description:
One fieldworker in Donegal as part of the Conservation Across Borders for Biodiversity (CABB) project, to survey breeding waders mainly in Donegal.
One fieldworker based in Mayo to assist with surveys, data collation and report writing for an upland breeding wader survey in the Nephins, Co Mayo. Must have good GIS skills.
One fieldworker based in Banagher, Co. Offaly to carry out a breeding wader survey of the Shannon Callows.
Suitable applicants will have:
- A degree in biology or related discipline or previous proven experience working on conservation projects.
- Excellent bird identification skills and experience of bird survey and monitoring work.
- Experience in surveys for breeding waders to standard methodology.
- The ability to compile data, analyse results and write reports. Experience of GIS desirable.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, particularly farmers and landowners.
- Willingness to be flexible in their availability to work, dependant on weather conditions.
- A full driver’s licence and be physically fit.
Salary : The salary for these paid posts is circa €20,800 pro rata; it may be higher for senior fieldwork positions.
