Statement re Charities Regulator report

BirdWatch Ireland has been contacted by the Charities Regulator, informing us that inspectors have been appointed to prepare a report on concerns regarding oversight and internal controls. The trustees and the staff of BirdWatch Ireland will fully assist the inspectors in the production of this report.

The Charities Regulator has stated that it is important to note that the opening of a statutory investigation is not in itself a finding of any wrongdoing.

Given the nature of the exercise, we are unable to comment further at this time.
