Biodiversity & Climate Emergency Appeal

In May 2019 Dáil Éireann declared a biodiversity and climate emergency but little has happened since. Fintan and Oonagh are working on marine and land-based biodiversity, climate and water policy and advocacy actions that will address the crisis we face.

Please donate to support our advocacy work for nature. In particular we are currently working on:

1. Ensuring that the laws protecting bird populations and the habitats and ecosystems they need are fit for purpose and implemented effectively.

2. Through investigation, scientific analysis and advocacy hold agriculture, forestry, renewable energy and marine environment decision makers to account and influence new policy development (ie. the Common Agriculture Policy, agri-environment schemes new forestry strategy).

3. Collaborate with national and EU NGOs to ensure Ireland meets its requirements under the Paris Agreement on climate change and also meets legal obligations to protect water quality.

We need your help so that we can help nature, climate and our water. We will work on your behalf with all elected representatives to do our utmost that the best policies to protect birds, their habitats and other biodiversity are put in place and that the measures necessary to prevent dangerous climate change are achieved.
