The event is open to all and no prior knowledge of wildlife is required. The walk will last for 1.5 hours and will take participants on a tour of the nature reserve’s rich network of trails, boardwalks and observation hides.

This event is funded by the Heritage Council’s Heritage Organisation Support Fund, as part of BirdWatch Ireland’s Communicating the Wonders of Irish Wildlife 2025-26 project.

Parking is available along Sea Road for a limited number of cars, including 8 to 10 spaces adjacent to the reserve’s main entrance. Dublin Bus route L2 serves Newcastle village, stopping at the Sea Road stop: the entrance to the reserve is a walk of approx. 1.5km east along Sea Road.
