************************************ Sunday 19th September *************************************
Our Cork branch invite you to join them for an outing to Cape Clear. Meet at 10.45am for ferry or 11.45am on Island pier, returning at 5pm. Book in advance through branch or direct with Cape Clear ferries.
CAPE CLEAR, Ireland’s southernmost inhabited Gaeltacht island, 3 miles long by 1 mile wide, lies 8 miles off the coast of West Cork. 3 miles west of the island stands the solitary Fastnet Rock. From the moment one steps ashore on the island, birds are evident and this spectacle stays with you wherever you walk. Robins and Stonechats are everywhere, along with Blackbirds, Song Thrushes and Dunnocks. Meadow Pipits can be seen and heard all over the western end of Cape Clear.
