I-WeBS Online

I-WeBS Online is designed for those taking part in the Irish Wetland Bird Survey. If you are interested in signing up for the survey please register your interest here.

Submit your I-WeBS Counts

Enter your counts via the Single Count Submission Form (linked below). This form can be used for submitting core counts and supplementary counts. The system works well on a phone, tablet, or desktop so you can enter counts when out and about or from the comfort of your own home!

The most efficient way to access I-WeBS Online is via your personalised link. This has your name, counter code and email prefilled to save you the hassle of entering it each time. Survey participants can request personalised links from the I-WeBS Office. For any further questions, or to request your link, please email iwebs@birdwatchireland.ie.

Some advice on filling in the form is included below if you should need it.

  • If you don’t know your Counter Code please get in touch
  • You can search for your Subsite Code in the table

Count Details

  • If count accuracy was ‘Low’ (i.e. accuracy of the overall count was affected), be sure to tick the appropriate reason why
  • Indicate the quality of individual species counts in the second column of each relevant table
    • Examples of poor quality species counts would be an estimated count of a large flock in flight, known underestimates where a number of birds are hidden among reeds or where species were present but not counted
