Butterfly Walk & Yellow Rattle Seed-Bomb Workshop

July is the month with the longest days and the best plant growth: ideal for spotting butterflies. The perfect time, therefore, to take part in a special two-hour event at our East Coast Nature Reserve in Newcastle, Co. Wicklow. Join us at 11:00 on Sunday 17th July at the main entrance on Sea Road, Newcastle, when we will explore the reserve armed with identification guides and recording sheets in search of the butterflies and other wildlife that call the reserve home. After the walk you will have the chance to make your own Yellow Rattle seed-bomb with seeds from the reserve. Yellow Rattle is one of the key plant species in establishing a meadow, and is brilliant for bees, butterflies, moths and other precious pollinators.

All are welcome and attendance is free of charge. Kindly funded by the Heritage Office of Wicklow County Council.
