Our Roscommon branch invite you to an evening with our very own Brian Burke to discuss “Ireland`s Gulls”. This talk will educate you about the lives of our Gulls, many of whom nest and breed inland in Ireland.

A widespread resident around the coast, Ireland plays host to Internationally important numbers of Herring Gulls. Regularly seen nesting on roofs, in County Dublin and Co. Waterford especially. Numbers grow considerably during Winter with the arrival of birds from Scandinavia.  Herring Gulls are large, intelligent and adaptable birds, existing in great numbers along our coastal areas, as well as inland areas. Gulls can drink either salt or freshwater and their scavenger diets allow them great adaptability often traveling up to 30 miles to their food source.
