Nature Restoration Plan for Birds

BirdWatch Ireland has produced a Plan for the Restoration of Habitats of Red and Amber Listed Birds of Conservation Concern in Ireland

In this plan we have identified:

- 52 threatened bird species for which habitat restoration is important

- 4 broad habitat groupings which are associated with threatened birds

- 71,450 ha of Annex 1 habitats in Areas of Opportunity which could be restored for threatened birds

- 9,000 ha of land in public ownership

- 89,000 hectares of land for restoration of seabird populations.

- Important areas for restoration for both scarce and widespread farmland birds

- Important measures for urban birds

- Restoration measures for threatened birds
